Chris Gunning is the Director of Residential Services, overseeing the general management of our 26 group homes and apartments. In this position, he directs all aspects of the Residential Department including personnel, fiscal and program issues.
Formerly, Chris was the Assistant Director of Employment Services in charge of operations and responsible for the day-to-day management of all employment programs. He supervised the managers of each of the programs including four adult training centers, one occupational training center, a supported employment program and a welfare-to-work program. He focused on staffing, budgeting, maintenance and safety issues.
Chris has worked with The Arc of Somerset for over 14 years, with earlier positions including Job Coach and the Manager of The Arc of Somerset's Supported Employment program.
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Chris Earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He completed two years of graduate work in Psychology at the New School for Social Research in Manhattan. As an undergraduate, he began his professional experience working in a group home for the developmentally disabled. Chris and his wife Ann live in Flemington with their two children Brian and Kelly.
