Lisa has been working with individuals with special needs since 1980, while attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. While earning her BA degree, Lisa interned for nursing homes, working with the aging population and unique seasonal camps for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Soon after graduation, Lisa worked for a hospital in New Jersey, who specialized in providing services for aging individuals with special needs.
Since joining The Arc of Somerset County in 1988, Lisa has enjoyed providing services and supports to the Individuals of our agency at a number of our programs including serving as Manager of Respite Group Home and Assistant Director in both Residential and Financial Services Department. In 2004 she developed the Payeeship Department, which assists our individuals in managing and directing their benefits while acting in the best interest of each person. As the Director of Quality, she has the ability to have a more direct role in designing and delivering quality based services to the individuals we serve.
An active community volunteer, Lisa has coached youth sports, served as treasurer for a local quilting guild and raised scholarship money for a local high school. Currently she is the Chairman of the Gentleman’s Picnic Basket Auction for the Belvidere Victorian Days Committee, a community fund raiser where 100% of the proceeds are awarded in scholarships to students at a local high school. Lisa is a member of the New Jersey State Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New Jersey, where she serves as the Membership Secretary. She is also an active member of the General William Maxwell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She also serves as the State Chairman for the Good Citizens Award for the New Jersey State Society of the DAR. She resides with her family in Warren County, NJ.
