Tara Abbott is the Director of Fundraising & Public Relations, overseeing all development activities of the agency including fundraising, communications, public relations, donor cultivation, and volunteer management.
Believing in the success and value of the agency’s many programs, Tara has worked to refocus agency communications and public relations toward the usage of success stories of persons served. By strategically planning fundraising and volunteer management initiatives, the Development Department has been able to increase contributions, grants, and the number of volunteers lending time and talent across the agency.
As The Arc of Somerset County enters its 40th year of service, the Development Department seeks to honor and acknowledge individuals, groups, and organizations that have made the organization what it is today while encouraging new supporters and stakeholders to get involved with our mission for the next chapter of our story.
Tara holds a M.A. Organizational Leadership from Rider University and a B.S. Management from Penn State University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy at Seton Hall University.
