  • Action Alert - House to Vote on Repeal of CLASS

    On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected vote on H.R. 1173, a bill to repeal the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Program. The CLASS program was created to help pay for services and supports to help working adults maintain independence in the community.

  • Free Income Tax Preparation sponsored by United Way

    The United Way of Northern New Jersey is sponsoring a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program provides FREE tax preparation assistance for people who earn low to moderate income. To make an appointment, dial 2-1-1 to be connected to a location near you.

  • My Time Sibling Support Group

    Siblings of children with special needs gathered this Sunday, January 22, at the YMCA in Hillsborugh to connect with other siblings of children with disabilities and to have fun. This quarterly event included swimming, games, crafts and refreshments.

    The Arc of Somerset County is thrilled to announce that all four of the wishes submitted for the 2011 Courier News Wishbook were fulfilled. Thanks to the generosity of the Somerset County Community Elijah can participate in family outings, Theresa can appropriately interact with her environment, Joel can cruise around his house independently and Frieda will have a vacation at the Jersey Shore.   • AGENCY TRAINING UPDATE - Wheelchair Securement Training scheduled for Thursday, September 1 has been cancelled. All other trainings will be held as scheduled.

  • The Arc of Somerset County administrative office is open today. Employees should check with their Department Directors for further directions.

    employees" when approaching police check points.

  • Due to consequences of Hurricane Irene, Camp Jotoni will be closed for the remainder of this week – all camp services have been suspended.

  • Agency Trainings – all trainings scheduled for Monday (August 29), Tuesday (August 30), and Wednesday (August 31) are cancelled. Please check back for further updates.

  • Arc Administrative Office – only essential employees are to report to work today (Tuesday, 8-30-11). Please contact your department director for further clarification.
