The Arc of Somerset County is qualified by the State of New Jersey to provide Intensive In-Home Clinical and Therapeutic Services and In-Home Individual Support Services to children and youth up to the age 21 with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities who may also experience emotional and behavioral issues.
The goal of both of these face-to-face services is to assist children and youth in acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills needed to function successfully in home, at school, and in community based settings.
The services provided are:
Intensive In-Home Clinical and Therapeutic Services are delivered by licensed clinicians to children and youth who have experienced an acute episode of physical or mental disability or a long term mental illness.
Individual Support Services assist children and youth who exhibit challenges when performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) which are described as skills related to daily self-care activities such eating, dressing, personal grooming, safety and community awareness, housework, managing money, use of telephone etc.
To qualify for the services detailed above, children and youth up to age 21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities must be found eligible by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Division of Children’s System of Care.
