 el honoree this year. The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disab
 ilities is New Jersey’s federally designated University Center for Excelle
 nce in Developmental Disabilities Education\, Research\, and Service. Sinc
 e its inception in 1983\, The Center has emphasized a community based\, li
 fe span approach to meeting the needs of individuals with developmental di
 sabilities and their families.\n\nAccepting the award on behalf of The Eli
 zabeth M. Boggs Center is Dr. Deborah M. Spitalnik\, the center’s founding
  Executive Director. Recently appointed to the President’s Committee for P
 eople with Intellectual Disabilities\, Dr. Spitalnik chairs the NJ Medical
  Assistance Advisory Council\, the national Council on Quality and Leaders
 hip\, previously served as a member and chair of PCPID\, and is past presi
 dent of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. Serving on 
 numerous committees both in New Jersey and nationally\, she provides exten
 sive consultation to families\, policy makers\, state agencies\, and servi
 ce providers.\n\nIt is also our pleasure to announce the return of the Dir
 ector of the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders\, the Honorable J
 ack M. Ciattarelli\, as emcee for the fourth consecutive year. Freeholder 
 Ciattarelli’s demonstrated support of individuals with disabilities contin
 ues to benefit all citizens of the county.
