Arc of Somerset County Corona Virus Update 3.13.2020

To all stakeholders:

The Arc leadership has, and will  participate in webinars, meetings, and conference calls with county, state and federal agencies and organizations to remain apprised of the most recent information and support available.

In addition,   all of our programs have been provided with a hand washing protocol for individuals served and employees.    There is also an  environmental cleaning and disinfection protocol that is in place across our locations.  Our program and clinical staff will continue to monitor participants for symptoms and promptly coordinate with each person’s healthcare provider and/or family in the event that symptoms appear to be present.

At this time, we will be closing all three of our day programs ( Jill  Court, Camplain Road and Branchburg) and The Jerry Davis Center for Children and Families effective 3/16/2020.

We will re-evaluate the status of these programs in 14 days and will communicate any other changes.

Finally, we are evaluating community activities that individuals participate in, to reduce exposure to large groups of people in very close proximity.

Please visit our website for updates.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

At this time we are asking the families/ guardians of our adult service recipients to   please restrict visitation to only those visits that are absolutely necessary, particularly if you have traveled. We ask for complete refrain if you have any symptoms of illness.   We do reserve the right to turn visitors away if they appear visibly sick and/or if we are supporting an individual who is ill in a particular program.

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a tissue. However, if you are frequently sneezing or coughing, we ask that you please stay home until you feel better.

We encourage everyone to stay safe and be mindful in the coming months to ensure the health of our entire community. For more information about coronavirus, please visit the New Jersey Department of Health’s website.
